In 2011 Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy launched a research project to assess the effectiveness compared to other talking therapies within the NHS. 71% considered themselves recovered after an average of 4 sessions. This compared to an average of 42% for other approaches using the same measures (like CBT).

The pilot study was published in the Mental Health Review Journal 2015.

For most of us, at some point in our lives we may find ourselves stuck with an unwanted habit or negative feeling, which we are unable to shift. The unconscious mind stores UNWANTED problem patterns. I help you remove these so you can take back control, as I believe everyone has the capability to do so.

You may be more familiar with hypnosis for entertainment (stage hypnotism) or clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy. These methods are usually more generic and focus on the clients ‘labelled problem’, which means clients often experience the same steps to recovery.

how is cognitive hypnotherapy different?

Cognitive Hypnotherapy was developed by world renowned Trevor Silvester of The Quest Institute in London.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses a combination of Hypnotherapy, Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, Cognitive theory and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Each client is unique and the way we experience our problems is also unique – therefore there is no one approach fits all.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses a RELAXED, light trance state. Similar to when you are on a car journey and you have suddenly reached your destination and you cannot remember passing specific parts of the journey, or when you are absorbed when watching T.V or reading a good book. There will be no swinging watches!

One client’s journey is never the same to another. There are no generic scripts involved. Everybody is unique in how we think, feel, and see things which is why I adapt my approach, tailored to you.

I use a range of techniques which are moulded into an approach tailored for the specific needs of each client. Together we create a bespoke journey, enabling the most effective change to take place in the shortest time possible.

Clients find the sessions intriguing and ground-breaking. You will learn empowering techniques, tools and strategies which you can continue to use them for as long as you need them.
